Maximizing out my amp

Hey, I have a Warwick sweet 25.0 amp (its a combo, but its pretty much like a proper stack with the head glued on. ... and whenever I'm gigging, i often find that I'm pushing the amp a bit too hard, because the clip light beside my gain lights up.

But I really need the volume I get from pushing the amp, so I was wondering if there was any way I could maximize the amps output without putting too much pressure on the cones.

1. Don't scoop the mids! Put more midrange and less lows in your EQ section. I know it sounds great in the music store or your bedroom, but not in a band situation.

2. A blinking clip light is not instant death. Usually, when the clip light flickers at the initial attack of the note, you are at optimum gain level. If the light stays on for more than a half-second, back the gain off.

3. Make sure your bass is set up to play clean, with no fret buzz. This can cause a loud, preamp clipping "clank" with very little actual note to follow in extreme cases.

Sorry dude typo lol. I don't even think there is a 25.0 .. Duno what I was thinking.

Hmm, my bass is a piece of ****! I've set it up though so that the fret buzz is as minimal as possible.

What happens if you do push it too far?
