ME50B vs ext. cab

Hi,

I'm torn between getting an used ME-50B (about €180,-) or an external cab for my Ibanez Promethean P3110 (300 Watt 1x10" combo, costs about €300). This is my only amp, and the ME-50B will be my first 'real' bass effect.

Please shine your light on this dillemma.

Well that's a case of apples and oranges if I ever saw one.

I think only you can say which you need more. If you play with others, or plan to, I suspect you need the cab more though. If you mainly practice and play at home the effect is of course more fun.

I'm more looking towards playing outdoor. Maybe a drummer and I will become a duo, so effect might spice up the bass/drums combo a bit.

Cab would be a 2x10", btw.

I would get the extension cab. Just seems like a more generally useful thing to have, unless you usually play with great monitors that can handle bass for you.
