Medium scale strings for Peavey Foundation (Super Ferrites)?

Dear TB,

I got a Medium scale warmoth neck from Wilbursaurus for my Peavey foundation, after finding that I was pretty uncomfortable with a full scale bass.

Any recommendations for a medium scale set of strings?
I'm a newb, and didn't know the difference that strings make such a huge difference!

Not yet. Scale is 32" Should probably reintonate.

As for styles, I'm just hoping to learn bass! I was gonna try the BassBuzz class.

821 mm, or 32 1/4 in
For an all-purpose string for someone just starting out, I would recommend the Dunlop Super Bright Nickels 45-105, which come in "medium scale" with 34" winding length (ball end to taper), which should be the right length for your bass with the new neck. They're relatively flexible (= easy on your fingers) and affordable (= easy on your wallet) as well.

By the way, just a suggestion... When you're responding to specific questions by specific users, it's best to quote the question when responding.

Gotta first figure out how to move the bridge, as there's not a ton of space to the pickup.
Before you make any holes, search this site for posts about changing the scale of a bass. There've been a few discussions over the years on the Repair and Luthier forums. You have to do some math to figure out exactly where the bridge has to go, and since you'll have a bunch of screw holes where the bridge used to be you might want to look into how to deal with that as well.

Keep in mind that changing the scale also means changing how it sounds, because the pickups' relationships to the strings will have changed.

Sorry, still trying to figure out the quote section on this forum.
