Megadeth - Lucretia

I really like that song but I can’t play that part to save my life. Tab was taken from UG and they’re all the same.

Basically, how do you play that? I find it very uncomfortable to play.

There are several ways:
-you could play the high note with your middle and low notes with your index finger
-use three finger technique and play the high note with the ring finger
-play with pick and play the high notes with up stroke and low notes with down stroke.

I can play it a lot better now but at the moment I prefer my fingers.

Sure, and you should do it the way you like best!

I can't help much with that though. I just thought I'd mention Ellefson because if you know he did it a certain way the layout might make more sense.

Though you might try hitting the high note with your index or middle, pulling through to the low note, alternate to the other finger for second low, then back to the high with index/middle, etc.

Thought I'd take a look on Ye Olde Youtube and watched a couple videos of Ellefson playing it.

I'm not sure he skips that far.

This is the best view I found so far, if he's not crossing that many strings then it might be a lot easier/less awkward. I could be seeing it wrong though.

Thanks for this. It never popped in my search.

And it’s kinda cool that you can zoom in and slow stuff down in YouTube.

I think the tab is correct though. There is no other way to play that big jump from A to F#.

I have checked the David E video and he is definitely playing up/down/down as I said before.

By the way how do you zoom in on YouTube?

Sorry, that's kinda what I meant, just poorly worded.

I skimmed the TAB before, and thought it was this section over and over:

When I watched a couple videos, I saw him playing the next bit where he's shifting to closer strings, so he wasn't skipping as far. When I watched the one I posted (which has the best view) and slowed it down, I had to go back and check the posted TAB and realized I had the whole thing wrong all along.

I think your take on it is correct.
