mellow strings ID

Yes, possibly. Do TIs sound that mellow? By the way, this Pbass features some interesting mods: E and A string tree, brass (?) saddle and if I see correctly, a wavy bottom contour of the headstock.

I suppose it’s possible, there are other sets with red silk. Interesting you mention because if they are really old Roto 77 they’d thud like that but let the silk geniuses weigh in. Pretty sure some GHS is another candidate.

Have you tried to DM him on Insta?

I've seen that on many old Fender basses.

After hearing this demo, I regret replacing my 5 year old TI flats. I currently have a P with new flats and after about a month they are sounding better. Guess, I'll never need to replace them. He's playing a nice funky groove and that tone works perfectly with it.

La Bella DTF can also have red silks depending on the gauge.
