Memorial Weekend Gigs - Who's Got 'Em?

I don't.

We had one booked for tomorrow night (Saturday) but it cancelled a couple months ago. BL said they couldn't agree on money. OK, whatever.

As it turns it would have been a 2-hr drive (one way) and the forecast is calling for a high chance of showers/storms at the time we would have been playing (outdoors). So maybe it's for the best.

Anyone else?

I sat in with a band last weekend, and they offered me a gig with them this weekend. Unfortunately, I'm going to be away, at a relative's college graduation. :scowl:

Yeah... around here at least the big outdoor events (festivals, street dances etc.) don't really get underway till a week or two after Memorial Day. It can still be pretty chilly in these parts till mid-June.

We're playing next Friday though... at a rib festival that has gotten to be a pretty big deal around here. Weather permitting it will be our first outdoor gig this year.

Theater gig: three performances of Spring Awakening at a small professional theater outside Philadelphia. Got a call to do a casino gig on Saturday night but had to turn it down because I was already booked. Then a desperately-needed day off Monday from both gigs and the day job.

A break from Spring Awakening here in Cincinnati. Playing for an awards ceremony on Saturday (read: lots of sitting, a little playing, good money). "Spring" opens next week end, so rehearsals all day Monday.

Private party on the beach at the Jersey Shore- recovery & celebration post-Sandy: first gig since the storm blew out my house. "Twangadelic" is surf/trucker/psychodelic and ready to rock. I leave the house in a half hour. I'm reeeeeally looking forward to it.
