I have a bass part which I wrote combining the two cello parts. Don't use cello II because there are parts where cello I has the bass line! I'll post it ASAP. I have to get it from my other computer.

Here are the first 2 movements. you will need to print the begining of the second movement on the same page that the first movement ends. Look at the first page of the 2nd mvt and you'll see what I mean. THis applies to the fourth movement too as you will see in the next post.

Here are mvts 3 and 4. The first page of the 4th will need to be printed on the same page as the last page of mvt. 3. Have a look at the beginning of mvt. 4 and you'll see what I mean.
Print this out on both sides of 90g/m^2 A4 paper and the page turns should all work.

The rehearsal letters are from Peters edition and another which I used so find out which you are using.

There are passages where I have included notes for 5 string with the alternative upper octave for 4 string bass.

The solo sections are to be played nicely if you are the only player.

Which brings us back to my original question. An advanced player could play the entire part at pitch. If you are not that advanced, you can probably play 90% of it at pitch, that is, reading it up an octave. Just keep the lines intact, as much as possible. If reading the part up an octave is new to you, this will be great practice, and a skill you'll need. Have fun.

One of the reasons I jumped in here is because I've done this. You can't just play second cello unless you really are hot! there are things you must miss out and things you must swap with the first cello. If you're not Joel Quarrington etc. don't expect a lot.

It will definitely take a more accomplished player to play it all. I'm sure it can be done without being Joel Quarrington.

the whole point of a bass playing the cello II part is to get more of a LOW END to the sound.
for that reason, I dont know if i want to play it an octave higher (Im pretty sure I can anyway. Were jsut playing the last movement which doesnt go too high). The question is whether or not it should be done
