Hi, everyone I'm trying to buy a new reverb pedal with a lot of options and maybe vintage, cinematic sounding and I am between these two, I was wondering if anyone has experience with me and could give me some advice. Thank you in advance!
Not sure if you've seen this, but Zach Rizer is a member here and does (IMO) the best bass pedal demos out there. Can't speak to the Mercury, but I'm impressed by the CBA stuff I've tried & heard.
Wow, thank you, I did not know that, I'll see the video! It's just that these two pedals have too many different options, I can't make up my mind. And it's that the Dark World here in Greece is harder to get compared to the Mercury 7.
If you want a really solid sounding stereo reverb, with some cool in depth features, get the Meris. You will need the MIDI i/o or similar box to access MIDI presets. The Meris sound is what wins it for me everytime. The extra features are cool to have, and in many ways, you can play the Meris with what you put in. The separate Bass and Treble controls are really important for bass. If you want all options on the table, in Mono, the Dark World is certainly a good option. It has a few user advantages such as accessable presets without extra stuff. The Dark World has lots of sound changing options that make for a wide range of sounds that would be hard to find in other units, unless you bought an Empress Zoia. You could use the DW in so many ways that the Meris just won't do. So, get the Meris for Stereo sound, and the CB for mono sound options. Or look to Empress Reverb or Zoia.
Hey thank you very much for clarifying that for me! I'll have my thoughts on it! And I will definitely take a closer look at the Empress Zoia!
