I know that's a joke, but there was a power violence band back in Windsor backed by some dude that pulled a behringer 210 combo from a dumpster, and he sure as heck rocked it.Nope. Behringer is

What on earth is a Power Violence Band......a power violence band
I've never gotten the sense that person is here to promote Mesa at all. In fact, the preponderance of his posts seem to be general amplifier advice not connected to any one brand. Also, and not for nothing, he's at Mesa presently but has in the past worked at many amplification companies whose names we all know.I think people get a little excited by the frequent posts from a Mesa employee (former employee? I dunno) and it's almost like Mesa has become the 'house brand' for TB. I like Mesa stuff just fine but sometimes the hype on here for it can be a bit much. Not at all saying the member isn't helpful or that Mesa stuff isn't great, I just think there's bit of psychology at play in regards to how much people build up the brand.
It's mostly yelling, some nice chord progressions and breaks, and like... being angry and making guitar feedback but on purpose. What on earth is a Power Violence Band......
and how can I join one?
I'll admit that agedhorse's presence on TB - along with the many testimonials from various players here - is a big part of what prompted me to look into Mesa amps when I decided I wanted a bit of a change from what I'd been playing. I'm well aware of the kind of hype that can be generated on TB - but that doesn't mean the hype is unwarranted.I think people get a little excited by the frequent posts from a Mesa employee (former employee? You mean the guy who built the stuff, supports it and several other brands he formally built, tries to protect amateur speaker designers and amp modders from themselves, while suffering through complete ignorance, and personally wrote the freely available without purchase Mesa manuals so we can understand exactly what we're buying before we spend a dime?
That guy? Yup, all hype...![]()
Right? It’s almost like every single For Sale post in the Classifieds is somehow bass-related. What’s up with that?I mean, this could be said for any of the really popular brands… have you looked at the number of Sushi Box and Broughton Audio ads in the effects classifieds? Or how about Boss or MXR - do they count?
This was the case with me. I’ve bought and sold all four of them. I’ve even gone through two of the models twice to finally determine the one that works best for me, which is the D-800+.I have noticed on Talkbass many Mesa enthusiast buy all 4 Subway 800 series then keep the one thay prefer and sell off rest also many buy and sell their way through all 4 one at a time.
Mesa makes great amps and they offer more options on the sounds of those amps than most manufacturers do. Odds are they bought it and used it and then decided they wanted one of the other Mesa amps instead, so they are selling the one to get another. You know if you have questions about which Mesa amp would suit you and your circumstances best, @agedhorse here on TB designed them and could point out the differences and probably make some recommendations for you depending upon what exactly you're looking for in an amp.Just wondering really, but why is it that there is a subway amp or cab being listed for sale just about every day?
I mean, just about every dang day I see another perfect condition subway amp up for sale.
Why?
Sounds like my marriageIt's mostly yelling, some nice chord progressions and breaks, and like... being angry and making guitar feedback but on purpose.
