Mesa Boogie 2X12 or?????

I am not crabby, but I have the PH 4x12 as well, and it just sounds awesome! I had it solo'd with my VBA this morning and it was killer. It definitely has a mid range voicing, but to me it sounds SOOOOOO freaking good. I generally run the cab along with a Mesa PH 2x15, and to me, that combo is unbeatable.

The focus is on the bass, but shows the Titan and the 2 cabs.
seeing as you have both the 2X15 & the 4X12, would you be able to tell me how much high frequency you get out of each cab with the horns turned off (i just don't like horns but I want the high frequencies)

Like you, I prefer the horns off. So I have them set to 5k and -2db, and keep the treble down on my amps.. That being said, I like my tone, especially out of the Titan (just got the Marshall back from the amp tech so I am in the process of finding my tone with the VBA), it is a very mid heavy growling tone. However, when I had the Mesa 400+ I thought the tone was very bright, hi fi like if you will. I really think the cabs have a nice range of response.

I too have a few Mesa PH series cab. I gig with my 4X12 and practice with their 6X10 cab, I always run both without the tweeter on at all as I prefer a slightly overdriven tone and find that most horns don't really appreciate the OD.

Mesas PH412 is my favorite cab I've ever played through, and I get compliments on my tone at almost every show, well worth the cash spent IMO. The reason many dont come up used is because of how awesome these things are!

Won't be selling mine anytime soon, it gets the job done with the nice mid forward growl that I want and matches really nicely with my rack rig (2XRBI into crest Prolite 2.0).

Not to hijack, but how do you like that 6x10? I am really interested in playing through one, but you rarely see them.

I'm very happy with both of my Boogie cabs to be completely honest with you, a big upgrade IMHO from the 01' Ampeg 810e I had before I picked these cabs up.

I very rarely move the 610 out of my place and the band jams at the guitarists place, though I did have the 610+412 running at the same time for a while when jamming with another band. The cab never saw high volumes but I have no doubts it'd be able to take more then my old Ampeg did and it sounded a lot better at jamming volumes to my ears then my Ampeg did.

To my knowledge, the frequency selector ONLY makes a difference when the horn is rolled on. With the horn dialed all of the way back, none of the mid selector points will make a difference no matter what they're set at.

Like I said, I'm always running a mild OD through my cabs and the tweeter just seems to like being off more with an OD tone. Both cabs do AWESOME and get me exactly the tone I'm looking for without any tweeter added in the mix.

I have two of 'em, and had been looking for a different tone out of my cabs but I know once they're gone I'm going to instantly regret it so yeah lol... Glad nobody has bitten on my ads yet!
I had a Berg NV425, got the Mesa 412, got the Berg 610, then got two of the Mesa 212's, so I see a cycle here...
