Boogie told Gelb it ain't shipping till Monday

Bummer! I was at Zone this afternoon checking out 5 strings and asked about the 212... it hadn't arrived yet, but then they told me that they usually sent someone over to mesa to pick up their orders (Cotati to Petaluma=5miles) to save shipping costs and that they thought they may do run Monday.

How does the Diesel speaker "feel" compared to the PH speakers?

I had a PH 115 for a while (mated with Venture 210). The rig produced a pretty massive sound, but also somewhat scooped with regards to the midrange. The PH 115 seems to be tuned in a way that produces a fairly pronounced scooped mid.

The Diesel 115 has a ELM 15L speaker which produces a much fuller frequency range that seems more accurate with regards to the sound it reproduces. I've heard that the ELM 15L is more unforgiving to play through, though I find that it just does a great job producing juicy, meaty tone.

Since you paid in full, do you think you could just drive to Mesa in Petaluma and pick it up?

I would love to pick it up, but me being in college, and in San Francisco, means a lot of stupid parking tickets, gas, and insurance I in no way want to pay for at this point in my life haha. On the other hand, I'd be going skiing a lot more...hmm...

Unforgiving in the sense that if the bass player makes mistakes, either in intonation or missing notes, beats, etc., those are heard more clearly because the speaker reproduces exactly what is played. This is what I've heard about the EVM 15L on TB. I actually haven't had that problem.

BTW, I went by Zone Music today... just happened to be in the neighborhood... to see if they had any deliveries.

They said next week... and that if Mesa says 6-8 weeks... it'll be 8 weeks. So, I guess this is an opportunity to practice chill.

Well, I guess that's a good thing in regards to amplifying yo' bass! I still need to try a 15' that sounds good for what I do and doesn't get muddy. Why the hell am I talking about 15's when I have a 2x12 I've paid for, but not yet played?!?

WOOT! I just got the call that my PH 212 will be ready for pick-up today at 5:00 PM. So, MusicmanSF, I hope this means that yours is ready too!

Unfortunately, it means that I need to sell my Diesel 115... I've grown kind of attached to it ;-)
