Mesa Boogie Diesel 2x10 project

So I came across this Mesa Boogie 2x10 on craigslist the other day for $90. The seller claimed it didn't work. There is a slight rip on one of the 10's outer rim and a dent in the others 10's cone. The Cab itself is in great condition and weighs a ton.
I plugged it up last night to my Markbass F-500 and wallah the cab worked and sounded great. Eventually I would like to either recone or replace the speakers. This is where I would like some recomendations.

Should I recone or should I change the speakers? For those familiar with thes what kind of speakers do you recommend? Is a rip in the speaker pretty much a means to an end? Should I replace the dented cone?

Anyways here are some pics of my cleaning and investigating extravaganza.

Does anyone know exactly what the switch does? I know it has something to do with the tweeter roll-off.

Killer score. I think that's a "Road Ready" cab. Dunno on the speakers, but you can likely have them re-coned for a lot cheaper than the cost of new.

Those look like OEM EVMs to me but I never had any 10's so I can't be sure. From what I understand the other Mesa Road Ready cabs did use EV's so stands to reason that's what those are.

There's probably a better way these days, but years back we would repair small tears in speaker cones with tissue paper & clear nail polish (basically lacquer).

But I see that the hole in yours is in the surround, which has to flex, so that might not be a satisfactory method.

I know the larger size EV's can still be reconed.

I now see the dent in the dust cap in the last pic. I wouldn't even worry about that.

Nice score, If it were me I'd put in some lightweight neo's. Those magnets look heavy. You could replace the surround fairly painlessly if you have the patience and a few bucks.

They look like EVs.
If the dent really bugs you, you might be able to
pull it out with a vacume cleaner.
It isn't hurting anything.
The torn surround is more serious.
Any good speaker repair shop should be able to replace
just the surround way cheaper than reconing.

The F-500 and my fender Jazz Bass seems to me a great match for the Mesa 2x10. I was using an ampeg 8x10 with the F-500. After playing with the mesa boogie I realized how muddy the 8x1o was and how much I needed to compensate with the Mesa 2x10.
I am awaiting the audio Kinesis Thunderchild. Meanwhile this cab is will keep me busy.
I guess I can live with the dent, Im gonna look into some speaker repair shops here in Los Angeles to get the surround replaced. Any suggestions would be helpful.
As far as replacing the speakers, Neo's have been thrown around alot here on talkbass, any weight I can cut down on this cab would be great. I just need to figure out what would be the perfect match for it if I go that route

I would consider keeping the original drivers and simply having them repaired. Its the cheapest way to go and the cab will retain some value having the original speakers. Yes its a heavy cab, but you could sell her in a heartbeat to any Boogie nut out there as Road Ready cabs are no longer made and this cab would pair up very nicely with another 210 or a 115. Did you get the front cover with the cab? Either way, you scored big time!

Yes the 3-position toggle controls the tweeter:
up= high
center= off
down= low

Those originally came with a front “plate” with latches that would hook to the aluminum frame on the front, to make the cab itself a roadcase. Usually got lost in the shuffle. Yes, EV’s.
