Mesa Boogie, Part 3

Buster and Diesel talk makes me want to post my rig...

MMMMMMmmmmmmmmm BUSTER!

I just picked up a cab for my Walkabout gigging rig, right here on TB.

This is my 5th PH112. I gigged the hell out of my first two, then had them stolen right before a gig. Mesa got me two more in less than a week, and I gigged the hell out of those too, until I quit all my bands and didn't gig for a couple of years while I worked on some solo albums. Now that I'm back to gigging life, I'm getting back to picking up Mesa gear - I briefly dabbled with a cheap GK combo while I was just starting out again in New Orleans, but I'm so quickly getting booked (18 gigs in March, 13 for April so far), and the GK wasn't cutting it. So I'm back to the Walkabout/PH112 setup (still looking for another 112 to complete the rig), and I'm a happy camper.

I usually get my stuff direct from Boogie, but this time I got these two used, as it was a bit cheaper than my typical Boogie discount. $375 for the Walkabout, $385 for the cab. Sweet!

Same here.
been wanting a super clean 400+ for awhile now.
Passed on one dead mint on not long ago like a FOOL....still kicking myself for that one.

Dude, I lost out on a mint Buster locally because the seller decided to just stop contacting me randomly :scowl: That one really sucked.

I placed a local ad hoping the Buster guy would contact me, and got an email about the 210 combo in good shape, but it's just not what I'm looking for.

I'm actually trading my Dingwall Combustion that I'm not playing for the Mesa and a nice case, I think I'm gonna be really happy. I have a show on the 26th at a venue that just re opened, hoping to have my tone dialed in and I'll be bringing the 400 for sure. What's a retube on this thing gonna cost me?

Sucks! Sorry to hear that man...

I know I lost a local sale on a Mesa Diesel 215 cab for only $350.00 in near mint barely played shape with original EV drivers ....I thought it was mine...then the seller flaked and never replied to texts or calls for weeks...finally he came clean saying he sold me out for $50 more to some other person...I was pissed!!

I blew it by not going to bat on that dead mint 400+ That a person I knew sold recently...It was priced at the high side ...so I chickened out on buying it...
But should have went to bat on it. REALLY near impossible to find one in that new of shape.

ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
No clue about the re tube...
I play a mint MPulse 600 head...so never retubed anything to date.

What's a retube on this thing gonna cost me?

It all depends on the tubes you get. You can use either 6 - 6550 or 6 - KT88 (as I heard some guys using). For the preamp section it also uses 12ax7 tubes.

So it can cost you about $140 or more depending on the tubes to get a full retube.

There a dedicated club for 400/400+ you can prob read through for more info.
