Mesa Boogie Road Ready 2x15

Hi folks. I've got an older (80s-90s) Road Ready Diesel 2x15 and it looks like the previous owner changed the jack plate on it. It currently has two 1/4" jacks, each 8 ohms. My understanding is that the cab originally had only one 4 ohm jack.

My other Mesa 2x15 (which is a bit newer) has two 8 ohm jacks and one 4 ohm jack. Ideally, I'd like both cabs to have this setup.

My question is does anyone know where I can get a replacement jack plate to fit this cab? I've looked around on the Internet a bit with no luck and thought about contacting Mesa directly on the off chance they have some older parts laying around. Before doing that, however, I thought I'd throw it out here.

I'm also curious if anyone knows where I can get manuals or wiring diagrams for these guys. The wiring looks fairly basic but I thought I should have them as a reference to be on the safe side.

I remember those jack plates from the 90's. The only place you're gonna find anything for, or about that cab is from Mesa Boogie.

My 215 is an 80's one with just the single 4ohm jack, and in the past I've though about converting it to the dual-8/single-4 90's style plate. But I probably won't end up doing it now.

That's exactly what I hope to do. I want to hook up a 4 ohm jack on the other cab so I can run both together and see how much damage that will do : )

Actually, quick question on that: if I'm plugging into the 4 ohm input on both cabs, I'd want to use the 2 ohm outputs on the head, right?

That's correct.

The 2 Ohm tap wants to see a total load of 2 Ohms. (The jacks are wired in parallel, so you'd either plug one 2-Ohm load into one of the 2 Ohm jacks, or one 4-Ohm load into each of the two 2-Ohm jacks.)

True enough. DIY is my last resort since soldering isn't really my strong suit. You're right, though. No harm in giving it a shot. Worst case, I can always just wire both speaker to one of the existing jacks and call it done. It won't be clean but it will function.
