Mesa Boogie Walkabout Scout-extension for 4 ohm optimization

There's no way to know what the mechanical power handling is because the passive radiator affects the tuning and the driver used has taken this into account.

It may work fine, but it may also be damaged, though you do have the lower power of the amp working in your favor.
Now when you say damaged, you mean the amp itself or the speaker I put in. I couldn't care less if this experiment blew the speaker. Then I'd know and order the proper one from you guys. As of right now it's working fine and sounding great.
But if it's going to damage the actual amp I will abort. When I called Mesa they told me it's going to be fine. I forgot you were on here though. Thanks for the info.

@agedhorse I just picked up a walkabout scout 12 combo today and unsure if it is 4 or 8 ohm cab..is there any way to tell besides using a multi meter mentioned above?
will it say its ohms on the speaker?
Intended use for this unit is adding 1 subway 115 as an extension cab
...or if the walkabout is already a 4ohm cab then just run another Walkabout combo off of an a.b.y. splitter pedal (bass guitar signal split into 2 separate powered combos for more volume and depth)

The speaker impedance will be on the gray tag attached to the speaker frame. In some cases it will be located on the back side of the frame’s spokes.

Thank you

Thanks,
the reason I ask is because the multi meter is showing 4 to 4.1 and your above comments suggested it should be above (5/6) or below (3)ish
It may be that your multimeter is inaccurately measuring DCR.

Would the subway 12" speaker work "ok" as a replacement driver in the scout cab?...(maybe even drop the d800 in the WA slot)
I would recommend the DrltaLite 2512-8 as the best choice.

[edit for speaker model error]

Thank you for all your help and advice on T.B. and also for creating the Mesa Subway line!.. IMO it's the very best product line available today with features and conveniences that are truly Fantastic!
Note the typo… it’s the 2512 not 2515
