Mesa D-800 vs Genzler Magellan 800

Ditto-I just bought the Genzler Magellen 800 as well. Subway amp nice but like the effects out and a 2nd channel with drive which will be fun to use occasionally. Have Greenboy Fearless F112 and Greenboy 15 sub.
Just found this thread, hope you all don’t mind me reviving it.
From what I can gather, it sounds like either amp is a solid choice. For those of you who owned both, which might you suggest for getting a more old school thump with a sealed cab tone? I play a P bass with flats & plan on using a Barefaced retro six10 (hybrid resonator). I used to own a Streamliner 900 which I was very fond of. I’ve never owned anything Mesa, but am intrigued.

Mesa D800+ is what you're looking for, because of the adjustable High Pass Filter.

Is there anything other than the HPF that would give it the edge for an old school tone?
I already own an Fdek HPF pre.
I’ll offer some more data if it helps:
I play early 60’s reggae/traditional ska, northern soul, and even some Latin music & early Santana (first 3 albums) on the side.
P Bass w/ flats through a sealed cab.
I've never played out of the Mesa, but I do own both a Streamliner 600 and a Magellan 800 and I can get the Magellan pretty close to the Streamliner with a little Contour A and Drive and then EQ to taste. So if you were very fond of the Streamliner I think a Magellan would be right up your alley. IMHO and IME.
Thanks for your input/experience! I’m kinda leaning towards the Magellan since I assume it’ll be familiar.
I suppose my original question should’ve been: ‘Since both amps have a similar lineage, which is closer to the Streamliner?’
I own and use both. Either will deliver “old school tone”, but the Mesa is darker and tubier by nature. The Magellan 800 is more “hi-fi.”
Can I just add that: How cool is it that @agedhorse and @Jeff Genzler are here with us to discuss their products? I get the feeling that they are both taking notes and have already started thinking about the next gen of bass amplification.
Plus, I get to ruffle my own feathers and say "Well, I've personally talked to the makers of the D800 and MG800....."
Their involvement in the community is why I’m going to buy both a pair at some point.
This is the first time I've checked a decent sized thread to the very end. I had to create an account just to say that you all are brilliant! It was so wonderful to see no bashing and just genuine love for the products and the engineers. Even after going through this 6-year-old thread, I'm still a little torn on which one to get (if anyone has any updated suggestions, then I'd love to hear them!), but I at least have much more respect and admiration for this wonderful site.

I’ve been on here a bit longer but still find myself surprised at how generally friendly and supportive this site is. But then every now and then…it gets exciting!
I had both and kept the Genz. They were both different sounds of great. The Mesa had a naturally darker tone to my ear. I played them both with my guitarist and we both thought the Genz was just more transparent sounding. But truly, they are both incredible sounding amps.

I also owned both the MG800 and the D-800 (and the D-800+) and I kept the Magellan. It has a clean punchy sound that fits my tone goals perfectly, and the dual contour function adds useful versatility. It also has a very solid feel that instills confidence in its quality. But, as I've said before, if the MG800 didn't exist, I'd be totally happy with the D-800+. It all comes down to the tone and feature set you're looking for. And, this is a big plus for me, Jeff and Andy are class acts as well as giving us bassists great gear.
