Mesa D800+, Can I Run It Without a Cab?

Sorry for the dumb question ...

I just picked up a Mesa D800+ from the forum classifieds, and wanted to test it, but I don't have a SpeakOn cable! I'll will purchase one pronto, but until then, is it safe to run the amp with just headphones? I come from the guitar world, and I am aware that running a tube head without a speaker cab is a recipe for trouble.

I looked through the Mesa manual, and I didn't catch any mention of this topic.

It’s solid state so you should be able to run it without a cab.

Your Mesa D800+ is not a tube head!!!!

Solid state guitar heads are just SS bass heads with reverb.
