Mesa M Pulse 600

I have an M-Pulse 600 that I use with an Aggie GS210 and a GS112. This rig kills! My band plays classic rock and blues. My basses are a Pedulla Thunderbolt, a Pedulla Buzz (fretless) and a Lakland Skyline Joe Osborn. They all sound incredible through this rig (fingerstyle and slap).

It's no 8X10, but I am happy man! :D

In contradiction to the posts that say the M-Pulse isn't responsive enough for slap, I'd have to side with kobass. I think it's also a big issue of what pickups you have on your bass. I tried out the 600 connected to a Mesa Powerhouse 1x15 and a 2x12 with my Ibanez SR505, (albeit with the pickups only at half gain), and found that it was all I could want for in terms of responsiveness. Punchy, fast, loud, clean; you name it. I'm planning on going back to try it out with my pickups at full, then the same thing with a Genz Benz GBE1200. Whatever sounds better is what I'm buying!

Yes.. I want an 8x10. I have 2 4x10's now and I never unstack them anymore. I like the versitility of 10's as opposed to other speakers simply because if you go with 8's then all you get is punch and high end ... anything bigger and all you get is low end ... I like having a solid low end (not too flat like 12's, 15's or 18's) and a punchy high end that gives my sound an extra bit of aggressive bite. I don't slap muich anymore (although I love to it just doesn't fit with our style) I play hard rock kinda like Tool or Sevendust ... so that's the sound I am looking for. :bassist:

Also, to compare apples to apples, I'm running mine (for now) with an SWR 8x10 and it works brilliantly. In fact, it can become painfully loud.

I guess you could call it modern hard rock. Its not quite as heavy as metal and not as fast as punk, but its edgier than say Three Doors Down type stuff.

The tone with the SWR is all punch. Its not the deepest toned cab in the world so I don't worry too much about boom or mud. The setup works great, just the overall tone of the head is a bit too aggressive in the mids for me.
