Mesa M3

Looks like a smaller M6, not simul-state like the W'bout at all. I'd love to hear it, but if it's based on the powerhouse 12 cab it might be over 50 lbs. Dang, I also wish they'd start putting aux in and headphone jacks and speakons on their heads. Great products, but they can be even better.

OMG! What I have always wanted! I love you Mesa!

but...

+1000 on the no Speakon thing... seriously, W_T_F!?

Especially now with the Speakon jacks that have the 1/4 in the middle... why isn't Mesa using them? :scowl:

BAAAAHH!!! NO!!!

I'm selling my fathom/neo 2x12 to pay bills (primary reason), AND because it is way louder than I can ever get away with anymore, only to see that sweet little combo!

WHY?!!! GAS!!!!

I'm sure you have other reasons, but please consider this - If you sell them, you get some funding temporarily. In a few months you probably still end up with bills to pay but without your loved gear.

Unless you have other gear you can still use, avoid selling if at all possible and try to cut on everyday costs etc.

Just my 2 cents without knowing the other reasons or something in detail.

We saw these at NAMM, and I had been talking with the guys at Mesa about the M3 prior to that. It is indeed a trimmed down M6, and quite different from the Walkabout. The M3/6/9 use a solid state driver for the MOSFET output section, and the M-Pulse family use a tube driver. I'm sure that there are other differences as well, but the net effect is that the M-series amps sound more quick and clear, but still harmonically rich, and the M-Pulse line is more fat, warm and also rich.

I love that head case... do you think I could order one from Mesa that would fit a M-Pulse 600? (Apologies for OT response.)

For sure. But it'll be 200 in the std black or 350 in a custom color vinyl/brono, or a zillion in the available woods or leathers-check the custom design gallery on their website if you enjoy drooling :-)

I really don't like the head cases that Mesa has used in the past for their m-pulse series... they look unbalanced to me in that the case is quite a bit larger than the head. However, this M3 case is more of a wrap around style, like my SKB 2 space case. I would buy one of those in black if they made it to fit my head.

OK, I didn't realize you meant a different contour from the standard one. I doubt they'd do that, at least for anything short of a kidney. FWIW the larger contour may provide better ventilation.
