I love the M6, but had the chance to get an M9 used, and am glad I did. For "warm" and oceanic power it has replaced a Crest CA-6 "lead sled" fronted with an ART channel strip—a very warm highly parametric pre-amp.
I just don't get "thin" out my M9. Clean? Yes. Growl? Yes. Tons of beautiful tones and oceans of power? Yes, Yes, Yes! 2 ohm capable, great GEQ, great compressor, tons of power...did I mention warm?

One man's "round" is another man's "thin". (Hmm, am I talking about amps or women?
) I've never heard anyone say an amp they liked sounded cold or sterile (it's always warm, innit?)--but that particular amp might seem sterile to me.
I haven't had a chance to try the Carbine series, but based on what I've read from folks with similar and dissimilar tastes to mine, I don't think it's for me. Sounds like the amps are great at what they do, though.
