Mesa Subway D-350!

The cabs are the same series but the Warwick 2x8 cab uses Celestions which was an upgrade and the 4x8 uses the stock Warwick speakers what ever they are. If the 4x8 had Celestions in it as the 2x8 has it would have been rated at 600 watts instead of the 400 that it is. I guess I'm saying the their power handling used together is closer than it could have been, maybe a good thing. You're saying that with the amp impedance switch set to 2 ohm I'll be getting 300 watts with running either speaker individually?
Yes. Be sure to set the HPF above ~40Hz

Setting the amp to 2 ohms and going into an 8 ohm load will hurt nothing. It will reduce the power going to the cabinet.

I am glad you got a WD-800 and are happy with it. I have one and, like you, did quite a bit of knob turning but did find the tone I wanted eventually. It is a fantastic amplifier.

I have a gig tomorrow night on electric bass and will use the WD-800 with my SW210 and SW112. I was hoping to use the SW115 I have on order but it is arriving late to the party. I'll report back here on how it goes.

Yes it was difficult choice between the WD-800 and the D800+. I'm sure I would have also liked the D800+ but there is something about the preamp tube in the WD that makes it sound more open and airy. I was playing around with it all day searching for the magic areas in the tone settings for in my home. Once you hit that right combination it sounds glorious! Even with the tube the notes have definition are dynamic, solid and tight with no bluriness, looseness or confusion. I'm sure if I set up outdoors my current favorite settings would no longer apply but I'll cross that bridge when I come to it. There seem to be endless combinations to try out, this is not an amp for someone who doesn't like to experiment with knobs and switches. The D-350 I had for a few days was pretty much plug and play, just a little fiddle of the voicing knob to taste. I still may pick up a D-350 someday just because of the simplicity, but the WD-800 may have me spoiled.

Now I’m starting to think I accidentally threw mine out with the packaging! Baka @lermgalieu !

I wasn't even aware it was in the yellow packaging along with the power cord until I read about here or mine would have likely been thrown out also. I think they need to pack it a bit differently so that it doesn't go unnoticed.

Check around the inside seems of the power cable pocket on the bag. Mine wedges itself down in there pretty good and I've thought I've lost it a few times.
WD 800 here.

:)
That's where I checked originally because I thought that's where it came with my D800 and TT800, but no dice. Doesn't matter though; I don't really need it (and I have one).

I recieved my 2nd D-350 from Zzounds yesterday, unlike the first one that was returned this one was factory sealed not tampered with and works perfectly. It sounds fantastic, a bit different than my WD-800. The bright switch that was broken on my first D-350 is a super nice feature. If it weren't for that I'm not sure I'd keep this amp or at least I wouldn't like it nearly as well. It just lays down a nice silky crystalline top end without sounding harsh or grainy. Using the headphone fuction the amp sounds very similar but not the same as my WD-800 so I'm thinking my WD-800 headphone output that I thought sounded strange (spacial) is working normally. I believe the difference I'm hearing is likely in the amps. Originally I was thinking of just keeping one of these two amps but after going back and forth between the two I really like both for different reasons. The WD-800 has a nice texture to it from the tube preamp that the D-350 can't replicate and even at low volume it just has more authority. The D-350 sounds great too, perhaps even a bit more transparent and quicker and with a lot less tone knobs it's less intimidating. I'm guessing it may sound nearly the same as the D800+ only with less power. I think if I can manage it I'm going to keep both of these even if I have to sell some of my less used basses. I just sold my Trace Elliot Elf and my GK MB200 and just kept my Aguilar TH-350 because I really like it. Even without any tubes in it to me it actually sounds more like a tube amp than the WD does. But compared to the WD-800 it can sound a bit cloudy and not nearly as tight. I like it enough though that for right now at least I'm keep it along with the D-350 and WD-800. I had a D-800+ on order and a D-800 came up for sale at a good price so I bought it. Then I bought a WD-800. Then my D-800+ came in. I love them all. The WD-800 is my favorite but I really dig the other heads too. Mesa Subway heads are simply wonderful. I really have no need for a D-350 but if one came my way...........

Nice gear, and your description of how the WD and D-350 compare is spot on based on my own experience. I too find the bright switch on the D-350 very musically implemented. I'll bet it let's those Rays really sing. I even find the bright switch is not too much with my Sterling and Warwicks which can be a little aggressive up top.

Also forgot to mention how nice the power cords are being supplied with these Mesa amps, nice and beefy and I appreciate the extra length too. A company that obviously understands it all begins with the power cord. Yep, both Stingrays really sing with either the WD-800 or the D-350.
I know! I didn’t get the original cord when I bought my second D800 and I was bummed.
