Mesa Subway D-350!

The only variable in my troubleshooting mix was the Amp Head. All my existing configuration setup with same room in my house, 3 different amps, outlets, 3 cables, 3 basses, etc. didn't have this hiss issue. I could be wrong of course but I isolated it to a one-off squirrely amp.

If so, then a replacement head that exhibits the same noises would indicate that it's not the amp, but something in your house wiring, or some part of your entire signal chain. That is still much more likely than a "one-off" head problem. Mesa has strict quality control on every head they build and send out.

I've had my D350 for about a week and I can't hear any noise with it. Its been on a couple of gigs and absolutely slayed though. What a great sounding piece of gear!
Mine keeps up with two Marshall half stacks no problem. Running a 12 and 15, both 8 ohm. Gain at about 12:00, master at about 8:30/9:00. Doesn’t break a sweat and sounds phenomenal!

I think some folks were a bit skeptical of what a number of us reported in early reviews in terms of the D-350 being plenty powerful. We've all become so accustomed to 500, 800 and even higher wattage heads that the idea of only showing up with 350 Watts seems almost unprepared.

The D-350 has plenty of capability to carry a good sized gig. When presented with multiple drivers in a 4 Ohm configuration it can easily leave you wondering why we all thought the next Mesa head needed to be a megawatt or more to attract buyers or please an audience.

One of the selling points of the D-350 for me was being able to contact and read the thoughts of the folks that designed it. Where else but on TB?

I'm going to start with the fact that I LOVE my D350. I use it all the time. Especially at mid-volume gigs, it has such a nice full presence with my BareFaced Super Twin that it is almost unbelievable. That said, I still looooove my D800. At volume, especially if you need some pumping low end, it beats the D350. There I said. But I do love them both!

I was going to get a D350 for a bunch of low watt cabs I have that I use with my WD carefully.

After weighting the pros and cons of what I have and the addition of another head with all the other high power heads I still have. I added more money and got the SW 115 instead.

:)

These days a lot of my work is on stages with backline/IEM, but I am debating between the Barefaced Super Twin and the SW115 as a match for small to mid size gigs. Currently have a pair of Ampeg SVT210AV's that I use, but the one trip load in is more intriguing.. I think the Mesa cab may win out. It should work great for doubling on electric and upright for pop country!

Yup, plug in the Kay M-1 last night before the wife said, "That's Enough!"

I had been playing 12 hours straight :(

But the Kay sounded glorious through it
The 115 is 37 lbs.

:)

Alas. Thanks.
Hey, other knobs work on these heads. I got some red and blue ones from Amazon and they work great.
