Mesa Subway D-350!

With lightweight versatility and best possible finger-style drop-D tone as considerations, match the D-350 with which:
A) Genzler 212T (4 ohm)
B) 2x Genzler BA10-2
C) Genzler BA12-3 ( as-is )
D) Ampeg 112HE or 115HE
E) RevSound 212T
F) Barefaced Super Twin

Seeking personal cab experience with a D-350, since this is the D-350 thread, not to branch out into discussions of these and other cabs' many merits.

I would think the 4ohm options, so A or B

No personal experience, so I failed
:(

GRBass?

Cheer up, you failed in the right direction

My hesitation on the BA10-2 is how comfortably low it may go. The D-350 confidently produces enough low end.

Funny consideration about the Genzler BA vs the NuClassic is that a lost mouse can't squeak up into the BA owing to its nice grill.

I would be looking at the Subway 115, 2 x 115's or 215, those were the primary test cabinets for what the amp was truly capable of in a bigger than expected gigging application.

The Subway 115 has been on my radar since I purchased my WD-800, only they never sit long enough in retail to give them a listen. Universally positive reviews, and good the learn they were used in the testing of the D-350.

Welcome to the club!

If you want a real mind-bender, when you do your gig in June, feel how warm the amp doesn't get at the end of your gig. An amp without a fan or vents has to shed its heat through the skin, right? I have never felt my amp to be more than slightly above ambient, no matter how hard it's been working. "Magical unicorn juice" is right!
To be fair, there are some vents on the left side as you face the little demon. But I agree, it never gets hot.

Mesa D-350 on a Genzler BA12-3 with a VT Bass DI perched on top (wider and marginally lighter than the amp itself ) Sounding great.

The VT goes great into the D-350's preamp, producing a sound that blends exceptionally well in a mix. The VT also runs off 9v or amp provided USB, and includes an effects loop, where light compression can take the tone to the next level

D-350 pairing with a 600w PowerHouse cab was not all I'd like, and not my "mini rig" use case. Fine sound with a PJB C4 and a twist of the low mids.

Any other sub 40 lb. cabs cited as an especially optimal fit with the D-350? (aside from the obvious SW 115) Considering even as large as a NuClassic 212T. Curious about MAS cabs.
I'm using MarkBass cabs with the D-350.
Sounds good to me!

Just bought the demo D-350 at Sweetwater. Gonna hook it up to my little Ampeg bxt210m when it gets here. I'll let you all know how it shakes out. Really, I wanted it for the aux-in & headphone-out though. I can jam away all night while everyone else is asleep. So stoked! :woot:

I almost bought that one. I can't believe it's still there tbh....

D-350 from Sweetwater came in late today via FedEx . Ummm, ok.....this thing is flat-out superb! The first thing I noticed out of the box was how light but well built this thing is. And I just love the build aesthetic of these; super simple, but still has a ton of features. Talk about a little tone-monster! Between the 'Bright' switch, which brings it to a whole other level, and the 'Voicing' knob, it's capable of a pretty darn wide range, for such simple contols. If this is anything like the rest of the Subway series, I can only imagine what a cranked D-800/800+ sound like running through some nice Mesa or GK cabs. I promised before to plug it into my Ampeg BXT210M, but I haven't even got past just the headphone out yet. I plugged in my Geddy Lee jazz like 3 hours ago and simply got lost in it. I have absolutely zero complaints. Big props to Mesa on this one.

Congratulations on the new head! When Chef and I originally wrote about our early experiences with the prototype heads we thought people might wonder if we'd become mindless Mesa fanboys, drank some magic cool-aid, or had just lost our objectivity.

The D-350 is the biggest surprise of all the SW heads IMO. It looks like a tiny afterthought kind of design that might have trouble being heard over normal conversation and could easily get lost in a medium sized gig bag. However, it's build quality and performance are equally as impressive as anything in the Mesa SW line...it's a pro head specifically designed to meet a unique set of requirements/wants (including a very compact size and passive thermal management (i.e. no fan)) that the other SW products didn't address.

Some even wonder if the D-350 had come out first if it might not have been the sales leader over all the excellent follow-on offerings in the line. It really is that good IME and most every review I see tends to reflect that same sentiment and element of surprise. :)
