If it had a speaker sim it would be even more amazing. Even just a LPF with a response peak before falling off.
As it is it is very tempting.

Useful for driving powered cabinets
Would be pefect with a tube in the preamp!

How many of you are secretly asking yourself, "could the WD pedal follow"?
I would think impractical for layout and cost vs. value, but Mesa has REALLY been paying attention to its' clients wishes and delivering in spades.
Well done!
Very nice! Not for me though, I gotta have a speaker sim for any bass DI I use.
So, if you want the tube preamp, just get the WD-800, and use that for your ampless gig. That’s what I am doing with a Demeter Bass400; and it works like a charm. I totally get your directions. It’s just that, as Andy pointed out, the logistics of getting that tube stage in a pedalboard box requires trade offs that may defeat the purpose.Proud owner of a d800 and subway preamp and I'm waiting too for a tube preamp version! Simple tone stack nothing crazy would be the ticket.
Was reading up on that last night when I should have been asleep. Looks like a good match for my mono PA that you might recall I haveUseful for driving powered cabinets, stand alone power amps (including rack mount), traveling where you may have some back line gear present that's not your flavor, etc.
this new iteration clearly shows that Andy listened very carefully to all the user feedback. Nice job, @agedhorse !!![]()
I’m here for the shrimp.
I hope there’s still some left.
And some of that cocktail sauce?
Which strangely enough has no drinks in it but it’s tastey with the shrimp.
Correct, the XLR preamp out is true line level and should drive the Quilter perfectly.
