Mesa Titan V-12 VS Orange AD200

I haven't had the chance to A/B these two amps yet, but i was wondering first if you guys had any thoughts about them.

I've been researching and it seems that the orange has an ideal tone for me, but that it gets distorted at higher volumes, playing through a Bergantino NV610 but w/ the mesa, tones can be found almost instantly.

I'm looking for a warm tone, i play in a powerpop/alt rock type band but i also do a lot of jamming with a guitarist, piano player, and drummer that ends up being things that range from, incubus to the disco biscuits to even RATM / one day as a lion type stuff and lets face it, it can get loud at times

that being said...is there any input?
(feel free to suggest any other types of heads as well :) .... possibly the new Aguilar DB751... if any of you guys have tried the 750 through this amp?

Yeah the orange is better for a nice cranked gainy bass sound....thats its trait. It might seem like 200W isnt that loud...but cranked properly, it is loud.

And thats why it is made like that.

Bear in mind that 200 Orange Watts always seem a LOT louder.

yeah i've read that the orange watts seem to produce a lot louder sound but im not really looking for the grainy distorted sound at higher volumes haha, more of that nice clean orange tone, but even at higher volumes, is that not possible with the ad200? :hmm:

Its best for a nice kinda chuncky thick warm fuzz. Really makes the bass sound 'wow'!

It does do a nice warm cleaner tone when you have the gain below about 10 o'clock...ish...higher is you play fingerstyle.

Ive seen it used for soul type music...sounded warm and full :)

I happen to love the sound and versatility of my Titan. It sounds good loud or soft, basically it is a monster. The AD200 sounded way too one-dimensional to me. IMHO as always.

BTW I did own a DB750 and ran it through my NV610. Again, great sound but very one-dimensional. I wound up having a taste for the Mesa sound, go figure.:)

That's the tone I like from it, gain at 11 o'clock with a passive bass and the tone control flat (which is not at noon, BTW) through a tweeterless 15. I haven't played the 750 but have heard it and I agree that it'd be more versatile than the Orange overall.

would the 750 (well 751 now) similate the low volume clean orange tone but at a higher volume?
