Mesa Titan V-12 VS Orange AD200

I say the Orange just because I've wanted one for about 3 years now.

i think that im going to be throwing in the aguilar db750/751 into the equation as well...i wish the orange was just more than 200 watts and im getting a ton of feedback for the mesa and the aguilar....hmph :/

What cab are you going to use? I like the tone and EQ on the Titan much better than the 750. The 751 may have better EQ than the 750, but I haven't heard from anyone who's picked one up yet.

The Orange will make you smile every time you play through it.
Also its loud enough clean with the right cabs for anybody with a
functional set of ears let alone a brain.
An orange AD 200 with an eight by ten is apparently as loud cleanish than a titan with say an 8 ohm 2 X 12.

Yes true but it clearly demonstrates how much more important speaker count and surface area is than watts in bass gear apparent loudness.

yeah man, i actually read that today and was like uhh... i donno about the titan anymore haha

im thinking seriously into the aguilar db750 or 751 though, i need to find a place to try out the orange though :/

I would agree with you about getting the Aggie . . . I chose the Titan over the Aggie based purely on $$$ saved.

Now I wish I woulda sprung the extra $$ and gotten the Aggie.

As it now stands . . . uncertainty as to whether I'm stuck with it or not. Good luck!

I don't care what anyone thinks of this statement....

The Orange AD200B is the best amp i have EVER, played through...
Loads of peopel say it goes fuzzy at high volumes... yeah... if you have the gain cranked... I have had the master volume on full... the gain about 1 o'clock... Was tight, punchy... cut through the mix with ease and kicked eveyone in the face who was in the room at the time.
Full valve amp... warmer than the sun that thing!

I wouldnt even dare put my on full! AHHAHA! I tend to have the gain really high...about 3/4.....cos I love the tube grind. Makes all the Ampeg tube grind seem almost weak!

Then The Master obviously doesnt need to go above half if you are using two big cabs or an 810.

It was only cos it was new.... It blew my knee caps off! Never done it again...

I crank the gain for recordin distorted bass... it sounds ace! But until i can afford another AD200B and a good A/B switch i use my T-rex Moller and my old Hot Tubes for live distortion...

Ah got ya! Two would be wonderful!

I think I spoke to you on basschat. I finally got mine flightcased...flightcasepro do good cases...the NSP type. Its heavier...but protected. Make sure if you do go for it, give them the exact specifications and measure it yourself ncl the handles and feet and give 1/2 a cm for breathing!

Im gassing for a BERG now...I was gonna go for a small 2x12 for smaller gigs....but it just wont push enough air!


PS Im being stupid as I already have the two Orange cabs and the Ampeg 810...im just going craxy with gear this year.

Do you find the Orange cab's are a bit muffled unless they are at ear hight? How does the Ampeg 8x10 sound in comparison?

8x10 is much more about punch...less low end. The Orange cabs have a more bassy low end, the 1x15 probably does a lot of this, and the ports. Orange cabs look cool though! I like the choice of both.
