I'm putting together a fan-fret multiscale 4 string bass for permanent BEAD tuning. Can anyone turn me on to some melodic metal bands that naturally play with the bass having a B string, OR, maybe tune lower than that. Not looking for anything of higher tuning as I can play that stuff on my 4 string Dingwall with the E string tuned down to C#. Now, here are a few caveats. No speed metal and no screamo or garbled vocals bands. Doom and death is fine, I just need to hear what they are singing about and hopefully it has a melody to it and it's not so fast I can't keep up. Other languages are fine too (I may not understand it but hopefully it still has a melody) Everyone has their 'niche' in music, hopefully someone can turn me on to something new for my bass playing.
