Metal Bands \m/

I haven't heard very much DHG at all, but what I have heard is utterly psychopathic! (compliment) Awesome song!

That Nidingr song sounds like the kind of stuff I usually listen too + a little deathmetal. I like! I'm going to check out the other songs when I get a chance... :)

This is a good example of the kind of stuff people hear when they come over to my house:
Kampfar - "Mork Pest"

I've been digging these guys a lot lately:
Vreid - "Pitch Black"

And I can't believe this hasn't been posted yet! They get back together and put out another crushing album and no one plugs it?!!
Immortal - "All Shall Fall"

Wow, just saw this. I went back to the opening post and did a search. Some really good metal was left out.

Just found these guys and the blew me away, epic tech death thrash with tinges of black metal here and there

Revocation-Invalid Link Removed(instrumental)/No Funeral(off their latest)

Revocation are fantastic. I saw them here in Denver awhile back at a dive bar called the Lion's Lair. 30 people in the whole place including the band members of all three bands on tour. Didn't matter, Revocation put on an incredible show. David Davidson is a monster.

Saw them again opening for Forbidden just 2 months ago. Just as ripping as the first time around, and even tighter as a group. Mind-blowing.

While I'm thinking about it, I'll toss out some love for Denver's hometown thrash heroes, Havok.

For those who may not be aware, many young metal bands over the last few years have adopted the sound and style of the great 80s thrash bands. This "movement" is commonly referred to as retro-thrash, rethrash, or new-thrash.

While most of these bands faithfully recreate the 80s thrash sound (and are good players), they are usually lacking in the songwriting department, and perhaps fall short in a couple other areas as well (stage show, charisma.)

Havok is the complete package. Great songwriting, monster live chops, fantastic energy and interaction with the crowd, etc. They are the best of the new thrash bands IMO.

Here'sInvalid Link Removed off their latest, Time Is Up.

WAKE UP YOU METAL SCUMBAGS!

Do I have something for you guys... These are some new bands that have been in constant rotation in my eardrums, hopefully you can find find something that suites your taste in here too!

Deeds of the Flesh-Hammer-Forged Blade Awesome brutal tech death band that I just can't seem to get enough of!

Pavor-Invalid Link Removed Seriously a band thats becoming one of my faves, great song writing and KILLER bass

Yattering-Anal Narcotic Das brutal

Anata-Downward Spiral Into Madness Kicking myself for not hearing these guys earlier...

Scarve-Mirthless Perspectives Man, these guys are awesome, French band that throws in some clean vocals here and there that doesn't sound metalcore at all, thank you France!

Quo Vadis-Silence Calls the Storm Pretty sure that these guys have been mentioned somewhere here before, but worth bringing up again. Great melodic band with some awesome fretless work by the one and only, Steve DiGiorgio, on this album.

Carcariass-Watery Grave Great tech death band with some prog and black metal thrown in, pretty epic.

Exmortus-War Gods These guys had me from the first 3 seconds into this song.

Deathspell Omega-The Shrine of Mad Laughter Ear blasting black metal. Great band.

Hatchet-Invalid Link Removed Classic thrash style band that I found out is from my own hometown of Santa Rosa, California, bummed out cause I never had the chance to see them...

Limbonic Art-Invalid Link Removed Epic symphonic black metal, somewhat in the same vein as Dimmu Borgir, but different in many ways too, bad@$$.

Belphegor-Invalid Link Removed Classic epic black metal, these guys do it well.

Dismember-Invalid Link Removed Black/death metal band that is just too awesome. Check em' out.

Serpent-Lunar Eclipse Epic Melodic Deathmetal from japan, also quickly becoming one of my favorites! DEFINITELY worth checking out!

That's a bunch of good poop right there. I'll have to look into some Serpent stuff.
Anata is one of my favorite Tech Death bands.

I've been listening to a lot of old school death metal lately, myself.
Solstice - Transmogrified - YouTube

The new Pathology is ********. The vocals are ridiculous! Slamming Brutality.
