Metallica auditioning to replace JASON (edited)

If only the bus would have rolled over onto Lars. The world would be a different place.

Also, the video with Bob Rock should make you mad. He's the reason Metallica turned into the watered down piece of crap that it is today, starting with the black album.

No he's not. Metallica never did anything that Metallica didn't want to do. Bob Rock is a great producer and a talented musician who made Metallica's albums listenable. And even if he wasn't, it's just silly to think that anyone could have bossed James and Lars around in those days.
 
I remember an interview with Les Claypool where he described what happened when he auditioned to fill in after Cliff's death... He got in, slapped a bit, did some of his usual crazy ****, and then asked the guys if they'd like to jam on some jazzy thing or other...

They sent him home, saying "you're too good for us"...

I'll either agree or accept the possibility of all but the bolded portion. I couldn't stand the sound "quality" of their albums, starting with the black album. Each to their own.

Les wanted to Jam on some Isley Brothers tune, Les and Kirk Hammet went to high school together btw.
