Metallica auditioning to replace JASON (edited)

" Here's a million dollars to join the band"

Ding ding ding!!!

We have a winner!

Wow.

+100000000000000

I can't stand to hear Lars talk! It's like nails on a chalkboard. The fact that this band needed a therapist to continue is the most non-rock thing ever. Metallica jumped the shark about ten years ago.

Yes and yes.

Lars is a little pecker aint he? And he stinks as a drummer so Im not sure what he is so high on himself about.

And, $1mil to join the band...wow

You guys have to hear Jim Breuer do his imitation of Lars. It's the funniest!

BTW, I guess we can argue about what albums sound best of theirs, but as for me, I prefer to actually hear bass, so Bob Rock was a welcome addition.

Don't get me wrong. It's not that there weren't positive things that came from his involvement. I just wasn't satisfied with the overall result. It's an opinion. Judging from sales figures, it's probably in the minority, but I still stand by it. I also prefer St. Anger over the black album, Loads 1 and 2 and the other stuff that came out in that time period, so what do I know?

Mike

Also, the video with Bob Rock should make you mad. He's the reason Metallica turned into the watered down piece of crap that it is today, starting with the black album.

Have you heard Death Magnetic? Their best since Justice.

I agree he's a pecker, but if you think he stinks as a drummer, you're high.

The really sick thing, if you listen to what Lars says at about 4:30 "if Cliff was to walk in here and audition, he wouldn't be the guy either..."
This speaks volumes about how far Metallica has fallen off as a band. Death magnetic is a step in a better direction, but i doubt anything will ever touch how cool the old stuff was...

As much as I dislike Bob Rock ( I really hated to see him acting like a member and saying somthing against Jason coming back.), I disagree to opinions that he's the reason of Metallica fell off in the mid 90s-2003. If they did fell off, James and Lars was the reason. They were too comfortable and dependant on him.
