How do you strike the strings?

I just try to do whatever fits the songs the best. For me, that usually entails plucking with my finger, but I've been known to slap every now and then:cool: I really do wish I was better at playing with a pick though, theres some music where that just does sound the best and my lack of technique with a plectrum really pisses me off at that point.

Fingers, slap(/pop), and double thumb(/pop). Right now I'm playing mostly double thumb/pop because it is the most fun to play IMO, and gives a nice funky sound. There was no double thumb option, so I just clicked Slap. I can play with a pick, but I hardly ever do mostly just because I don't really want to... Fingers would be my 2nd fav way to play, and I'm trying to fast with three fingers, instead of just hitting on the down and up with my two fingers. Then slapping, which was my favorite way to play until I discovered double thumb.

It's all about sound! :bassist:

Fingers 49% (funk/disco/soul/jazz)
Pick 49% (rock/hard rock/metal/punk rock)
Slap 2% (funk)

The rest of the time I just use my teeth :D

I play mainly covers so I adapt my playing technique to whatever the song requires (Iron Maiden songs sound horrible when played with a pick IMO).
