It reminds me of hearing Mick Karn with Bill Bruford. Specifically on Door X by David Torn.
Yeah? I guess it’s fundamentally a pop song. I love that combination of the wide fretless sound and the tighter busy drums. There was a bit of that going around in the 80’s with Mick Karn, Pino Palladino, and Tony Levin. I think it’s cool.
