Micro POG vs. EBS Octabass

EBS makes some great pedals, no doubt! But the POG is better in my opinion. The octave up and down are nice, but throw in the Dry knob - and you can get some very nice ambient tones. When I used to use effects in my chain (in a bit of a pure bass tone phase these days), my POG gave me some cool options.
You gotta go with your own instincts, but based solely on personal opinion? The POG rules!

I've owned both, and the μPOG tracks a lot better and has greater versatility. It's really no contest. However, EBS just released a new series of most of their pedals including the OctaBass, which they say now tracks better than ever, whatever that means. I'd go with the μPOG. It's the red one.
The POG has an octave up AND an octave down and tracks much better. But IMO the EBS sounds better, as does the Boss OC-2.
So, as with almost all pedal choices, it's a tradeoff.

If you're doing regular octaving, the micro pog is great for sure.
However, I do a reasonable amount of playing with 100% wet signal from octaver for synth like sound, for that the micro pog didn't work so great and the ebs worked better.
I know you said you've narrowed your search down to EBS/EHX. Have you also considered the bass synth wah, incredible value for money as an octaver?

im also interested i these pedals, which would u say has the nicer sounding/better tracking for sub octave?

As I said, it's a tradeoff. The POG tracks much better but the sub octave tone of the EBS (and Boss) is better IMO.
I've had the EBS on my board for a long time. Recently got a POG and took it to practice last night. Initial impression is the same as those above... POG tracks better, EBS sounds better.
So what does "better" mean?
To me, the POG sounds a bit artificial compared to the EBS. The -1 octave on the POG also sounds lower than the low setting on the EBS, which is a bit too low for my taste (approaching sub-sonic). Of course some might like that, just not me. The EBS sounds more natural, realistic, and the hi/mid/low switch for the -1 octave sound gives a nice, useful range of depth to choose from.
I think I'm sticking with my EBS.

As the new Octabass 2008 version has an improved tracking, according to the manufacture web site, the good sense says that you should get the EBS.
I've tested both in the store, The Micro POG tracks great and has a bit more flexibility and is only about $20 more and it comes with a 9volt power supply. The only advantage the EBS has is the ability to run on a 9volt battery. The Micro POG requires AC and doesn't take batteries.
yeah, im gonna get the Octabass.lol i really dont want an artificial sounding low-end.

I find that the -1 Octave sounds artificial on both, which; IMHO, is kinda what I want or I'd play an octave lower. I enjoy the option of the +1 and -1 octaves and choosing the natural pitch... I had a 1984 OC-2 MIJ and sold it because the tracking and sustain left much to be desired, so I'm looking for the right thang too!
