Mid 70's SUNN 115 S cab

Here's the newest SUNN addition rehab. From the mid 70's, it's pretty much a 215S halved. Originally had a SUNN Transducer Speaker, but it had been replaced by a '78 CTS bronze frame, white dust cap, round magnet 15 at some point. Sounds good. Note that it was made to be rolled around on the casters and then flipped on the side with large feet. That would put the emblem face up and the port on the bottom. I've played it both ways and it does sound a bit better with the port on the bottom as intended. Hope you enjoy.

That's a nice cab, IMO probably the most practical Sunn cab the produced. It's not half of a 200S, that would be the Sonic I-40.

It's actually half of a 215S. The advantages (again IMO) it has over the Sonic I-40 is that it's front loaded so you don't have to deal with the million screws to load and unload it, and will take pretty much any 15" driver because it lacks the restrictive internal port ducting of the Sonic cab.
It's also very close to the production Reeves 115 cab, same design with just a smidgen less internal volume.

Thanks edbass. I had 215S halved and then changed it to 200S. I've now changed it back to 215S per your information. Your right about the ease of getting the speaker in and out. Also easy to move around by myself. I have an 8 ohm JBL D140F and an 8 ohm Altec 421A and I'm going to try each one in there to see how each sound. So far, I've run this cab through a late 70's Sunn Coliseum. By it's self, very classic/vintage sound. I then added an Ampeg 1-18 deep cab to it. That combo kept the vintage sound, but added a big bottom with the Ampeg. Near perfect mix of old and new to my ears. Also tried a couple of other Sunn cabs with spectacular results. I'd still like to hear the upgrade Vega that was for this cab if I can ever locate one. BTW - cool basses. I have a Pbass nearly identical to your white one.
