Mid Scoop Button on a Fender Rumble 100

^ yeah, kinda like that. Mid Scoop shapes the tone so the mid-range tones are "scooped out" or reduced, emphasizing the lows and highs. So you would use it to achieve this type of tone without tweaking the knobs.

As Satori said, it probably will lower your level relative to other instruments, if you're playing in a band...

You dont need to cut anything severly when scooping a graphic eq. Most people who try it seem to be WAAAY to extreme! I use a subtle boost/cut/boost on my eq and it cuts through just fine. Any pre-shape buttons on amps I've come across are too drastic for my liking. If you like the tone it produces, use it.

+1

I have the same amp and dont usually use it, but thats because I like switching between slapping and finger playing in the same song, and I hate the way it sounds with finger picking. But like Bob said, play around with it, and if you like the way it sounds...use it!

I own a Fender Rumble 100 and I am curious what exactly the Mid Scoop Button does? What would you use it for? Thanks
Old thread here, old amp but I tried it today, I bought it in 2006.
I'd never liked its sound or not so much, too muddy, but today I tried with a strange EQ.

Bass : 0%
Low Mid : 75%
High Mid : 75%
Treble : 0%
Mid Scoop On

The sound was good, kind of acoustic sound, I play with flatwound strings.

Mid Scoop Off it's aggressive, On it sings.

Mine is not really there, mid scoop and active/passive select are white, it doesn't have rubber feet but wheels.

Is one of these like yours, Lionel?
