I've been covering one of my favorite Pat Metheny tunes in my solo shows in the last couple of months and finally recorded a version of it today. Thought I'd share it since it turned out pretty well. I can sequence the whole thing pretty easily on my Boomerang Looper with the Sidecar for live shows, but I laid the basic tracks down in StudioOne for this with the loops to free myself up a little. The 'A' section has a shortened form so it's tricky to make the looper grab it properly if you don't catch it just right. Fresh DR Sunbeams on the Lakland, and a revised setup with some tweaks at the nut have really made this 21-year-old bass come alive again for me.
