I think Squier makes/made a Jr Precision but it really was smaller, the scale was 28.6" or something.
We discussed that a bit in the thread you linked. The JCJB is actually routed that the middle pickup can accept either a P or J pickup. So, if you don't mind your 30" P bass having a J bass neck and nut width and an offset body, it could be a project...

I bought mine in 2023, when international purchases were much easier. Gory details on my NBD thread. For me, this bass has been a total GAS killer.
Yeah, a shorter scale, 23" as opposed to the Junior's 30" scale, but a lot cheaper in price! Might be good for a stay-at-home bass.
I got a Flight Jazz bass several months ago and I found the build quality to be quite good and overall a great value, on par with my two Kalas. I did end up installing a Babicz bridge and replaced the stock pickups with DiMarzio Relentess pickups. The roasted neck feels stable and plays well. The G string is prone to tuning issues more than the other strings, and I suspect it is because of the amount of length from the nut to the tuner. I don't have that problem with any of my other uke basses none of which have inline headstocks. My only real issue is that the Flight only has 19 frets, and I usually require at least 21. I've been wanting to custom order some roundwounds from Pyramid for the Flight, but Max is not shipping anything to the USA at the moment. It's nice to play a 'Jazzy' type bass again even if it is smaller.
I've been playing one for a couple months now and it's now my default for wine bar gigs, ie packed in tight and sometimes having to dodge staff and guests. I recommend having it set up properly- the intonation was way out until I adjusted the neck, bridge and filed down the nut slots. I picked it up used from a big box retailer and aside from putting on flats, I'm guessing the previous owner didn't do anything to it because the plastic was still on the pick guard and under the tone knobs.
It sounds good on its own, but a little compression helps focus the tone, imo (I'm using a MXR 282 in the spirit of keeping things small). For about $400 plus some labor, I'm very happy with it. It's also nice that the pickups and tone controls are the same size as a standard 4-string if I decide to mod it down the road. It's not replacing my 34" 5-strings, but I'm taking it out more than the elastomer-stringed ubasses I've got.
Photo attached from a recent gig- the bassist I was subbing for said it sounded a lot bigger than it had any business to. I really like the stealth look- even other musicians often don't register that it's not a regular JB. (I'm 175cm/5'9", not a giant).
