MIJ Precision Pickguards...

Do they have the same screw pattern as USA models? Apparently, replacement Fender pickguards say that they fit US models and later MIM... what about year 2000 and up MIJs?

Does anyone know if they'll fit (without drilling new holes)?

I bought a replacement tort pickguard for my mid 80's MIJ P from StewMac and it fit the screwholes perfectly. The only small caveat was that about a mm of the rout near the input jack peeks out from beneath it. Its barely noticeable though and I think it just adds a bit more mojo to an already mojo-fied bass.

Ok, great. Thanks for the replies. The reason I ask is because I just tried a pickguard from what I thought to be a fender replacement guard that I picked up a while ago at a guitar show for cheap, but only 2 holes match up on a 2002 70's RI MIJ body. The other holes don't even come close.

Not sure what pickguard I had, but it was a very poor fit all over (neck, pups, etc). Apparently, I got screwed on that deal....

Sounds like if I go with a Fender or Allparts I should be good (or a lot closer).

Thanks!
