I'm not sure on the MIJ radius (although every MIJ I've played has been 7.25), but def trust your instinct on the 12" of the MIA, cause it plays amazing.

Same here...in fact, at the risk of offending the TB tort gods, I hate pickguards. I've taken them off every bass I've owned.

I like the look of them at times, but I’d prefer no pick guard. A tortoise pg on a black bass looks nice. Now they rout the jazz basses with a much larger pickup cavity that a pg looks better. I’m not sure why the modern jazz basses have that weird route. Unless it’s to accommodate a larger pickup. Idk.
