Mike Dirnt Refinish Project

I saw this bass on a road trip. I would have bought it if it hadn't been over priced.

I think it rocks with the white PG and Rosewood.

I don't think that's surf green in the pic. It's Sonic Blue.
This is closer to the true surf green: Invalid Link Removed

You might be right. The owner claimed it was Surf. It looked green in person. (photo looks a little more blue)

Surf and Sonic are so close. Search images.google for "sonic blue fender" and you will see some look blue, some look green.
I've seen a difference between MIA and MIJ colors.

I had slinky's on mine for the one day before I got it home and discovered the truss rod was shot and returned it (bought it out of state at a guitar center - luckily they let me return it at a different store - it was used)

My main at the moment is a CIJ '51 reissue, I love the body style and tele headstock, but that pickup in the dirnt really makes that bass. I'll be picking up another one in the future, I'm sure of that.

Also, I absolutely love the surf green, that's going to look killer when it's all back together.

Dirnt owners:

While we are waiting for the lacquer to dry out....

what strings do you like on the Dirnt?

I've been thinking about Chromes (flats), I do mostly finger style, Rock beat.

Thanks for your input!

I have 760fl labellas on mine. Sounds sweet.

question for yous Dirnt owners. Is the truss rod Allen key or the cross head?? The Fender site is saying it's the allen key but mines the cross head at the body end . Odd ball? or have they changed it
