Mike Finnegan, keyboardist, RIP

Got a call from one of my old drummers, he knew Mike and let me know of his passing. Featured prominently on Jimi Hendrix’s “Rainy Day Dream Away”, he had an astounding career playing primarily organ with, well, everybody. My first legal night in a bar was spent seeing him in a little club.

One of the best ever at revving up a B-3. I saw him many times in a lot of different bands, always great! One of the great Journeyman musicians in my lifetime.

at club The Lion’s Share. RIP!

Around the early 2010's I saw Mike, Barry "Frosty" Smith, and Denny Freeman in a bar above the Continental Club in Austin.


Mind blowing is not strong enough to describe this night.
