Here are a few progress pics of my Mike Lull MV5. I wanted to go with a wild color but was afraid I would grow bored eventually so I went for elegant simplicity. Always liked natural quilt gloss.
So, we picked out the body.

Roger and Mike sent me a mockup. It will have a clear guard or a white one at times. Knobs not on a jazz plate.

And today it came back from the finish shop. I wanted to get a good look at the grain so I darkened it a little too much. It will be lighter and creamier rather than so amberish and that is great by me.

This should make a great partner to my Nordy since it will have Nordstrand Singlecoils and an Audere preamp with a cool feature. Sort of a " programmable vtc " - I'll tell you more later.
Always liked the way Lulls felt and sounded and this one should bring it home. About 1 to 2 more weeks ..

well, even though this thread ain't gettin' much love :crying:,
here are a couple more pics. I'm digging both pickguards but surprisingly favoring the white. I am taking both.
The knob layout looks good- there will be be twi mini switches and the led but the will run parallel to the strings , by the bridge. Not as indicated here.
Anyways, here are the pics:

Wow Adrian, that is looking gorgeous. I have a question about the Lull's that you can chime in on.

I normally prefer 34" scale basses...all of the Lull 5's are 35" scale. There are some 35" scale basses that are easy to play and others that feel every in the 35" scale...where do the Lull 5 strings come in? Are they easy to play or do you feel the full 35" scale?

I hope you are well...

Mark

Beautiful grain.A shame to cover it up.But if you have to, have you thought of a brown tort pickguard?
I have one on my bass(Maple neck and ash body)I like it a lot but on a bass like yours I'd leave it like it is.Can you use double sided tape to hold the pickguard in place? That way if you ever changed your mind you wouldn't have the holes.
