MIM Deluxe Active P Bass Special pickups

Hi,

Do I understand correctly that Invalid Link Removed has an active preamp, but passive standard pickups? So if I were to upgrade one, I could just toss in Quarter Pounds and not need active pickups such as these, right?

I'm answering myself. Yes. No problem, apart from the fact that the QP is loud as hell and the Noiseless is very quiet. Oh well, I didn't use the bridge pickup solo anyway.

Hey dude, I have a p bass deluxe, I ripped out the pre amp and made the bass passive, I'm not a fan of active p basses , I could never dial that real p tone, I much happier now.. I'm thinking of getting the bass sprayed and having the jazz placement closed up .. Maybe it dust answer your OP
But that's my experience on a p bass deluxe

I prefer active, even in a conservative P-bass. If you are after the so-called real P tone, why would you get an active bass to begin with?
