MIM/MIA pickup output difference

Hello out there.

I have 99 MIA Jazz and 06 MIM fretless jazz and their outputs seem to be different from one another. The 99 seems lower than the 06. What would cause their output to be so different? Both are passive and stock.

I've noticed this too. My 01 MIA P has lower output than it's 2005 Squire P brother, which I'd consider the outputs really hot. Tone wise, I think they both sound great but the squire definitely has hotter pickups.
