MIM VS MIA whats the difference???

As far as I can tell the pots are the same (at least in my 04/05 MIM Jbass). I have no problems with the bridge or tuners keeping things in place--which used to be a common complaint. The fret job on the edges is only slightly better on my MIA Pbass. The finish is as good as the MIA finish.

I did replace the pups on the Jazz. The originals were louder than the MIA Pbass, but didn't have a full pleasing sound. I put in some Custom Shop 60's when are not as loud but are more full and deep sounding. More pleasing.

I bought the MIM Jazz used and have not regretted it for a moment. It plays as well as my MIA. They are a great value for the money IMO--at least mine was.

I think when you get up into the American deluxe or CS series, there is a big difference in build quailty. But comparing a MIA standard to a MIM standard, the finish on the MIM looks a little cheaper (MIA is a higher gloss finsih to my eye). But the sound to me is the same.
