I've been playing this SB5000 all day whilst pondering my decision. I think I'm getting closer to returning it. I really really like this bass so it makes it really hard to already let it go but I'm sure an SB4000 will be just as delightful if not more. Man... Carvin can really build an instrument, that's for damn sure. I've been playing through some of my bands' songs, 1 of which would require me to drop D and man it was so much fun in drop D. 1 other song is in Eb so I'll probably get a second bass and tune it a half step down. In a couple other songs that are in standard I'll be losing a couple of low notes that I hit but it's really not a big deal, I can just hit them an octave higher and that'll have to do. I know this all sounds ridiculous but this switch is a big decision for me and my bass career. Thank you all for your input you've been great support!
