Mini Jazz Bass battle, SX vs CnZ ?

I've been thinking about getting a mid or short scale bass and these two have caught my eye: JB-MINI-SB | Electric Bass | CNZ Audio
SX Ursa 2 LT MN BAS Lake Placid Blue Medium Scale Bass (rondomusic.com)
Is there a clear winner between these two? I know the CnZ is even smaller than the SX mid scale, but I think either one would be fun to have. Are there any clear advantages of one over the other?

I love that the CNZ is 6.2 lbs, and I love that I doubt anyone on the planet outside of geeks here on Talkbass ever heard of a CNZ. What that means to me is that if you ever took it to any kind of important jam or gig, nobody would even know it was $180 bass. They could think its $3000 custom boutique.

I know that kind of thing isn't important to most, but truth be told there are idiots out there in the music world. And a certain type of idiot might be prejudiced to a Squier or SX bass. But OK... its not that important, something ya might though want to consider.

The one minus on the CNZ is that its 28" scale. That's even shorter than a short scale.

SX basses on the other hand are pretty consistent in their quality, and sound half decent. If you ever wanted to upgrade, dropping a new set of pickups in it could make it a bass for life.

The color is pretty cool on the SX too.

I own and love both.

I owned a 32" scale SX and sold it. The Ibanez and Hofner are higher quality instruments.

I switched to only playing SS a few years ago and have played many SS basses over my 24 years of being a bassist. As most would say on Talkbass its about which one fits your hands best.

Let's clear up the scale lenths first:
Medium scale: 32"
Short scale: 30"
Mini or micro scale: 28.6"

Having not played the two basses mentioned I can't speak to their comparitive quality, but those scale lengths can often be found on other basses at Guitar Center. The Squier mini p-bass and Ibanez mikro are 28.6" scale. The Fender/Squier mustang and Gretsch G2220 junior jet are 30" scale. The Ibanez SRM200D Mezzo is 32" scale. There are many other SS basses GC carries as well.

The difference between a medium scale and a mini scale is quite noticable both in playability and sound. So, I recommend trying as many shorter scale basses as you can to get a feel for which scale length fits you best.
