I have a mesa and a mark bass amp. The Mark Bass kinda sounds better with the Rob Allen.

I've also switched out a Trace Elliot 2x8 for a 1x10. I've started using a Fishman preamp again; it's great to have a solid compressor, HPF, boost, eq and tuner in one small box. All so quick to set up and break down at gigs.

Well I p/u a TC Thrust 250 and tried it with my elf's and Rob Allen.

SO far I am impressed with this little combination, and no extra eg required.

I think the situation JBLOCK and I had/have are with the Rob Allen bass. The electric bass had no issue with the D-800 and the small elf cabinets.

For me the TC has solved that problem and now not needing the extra EQ.

Still modifying - here is the present family.

2010 Fender American Special Jazz, Rob Allen Mouse & 1976 Fender Precision.

TC Electronic BQ250, Trace Elf 2x8 and Trace Elf 1x10 (2). I now have any combination of elf cabinets.

Went even smaller for my small gigs at church where I need to carry an amp.

ELF 200 watt amp, one Elf 2x8 and 1 Elf 1x10. With the Rob Allen and 76 P bass.

Posted this rig back in Nov. 2015. The top bits did the rounds among a couple of friends shortly thereafter, and then the opportunity presented itself to trade back for them last week. This is probably my favorite DIY build I've yet done and I think I'll probably rack the two pieces horizontally now, having decided that the 1/2rack format is actually more hassle than it's worth.

I've owned the Thunderchild 112 cab for about a decade now and have never even remotely thought about changing it out for something else.

I purchased the immaculate Tecamp Puma 500 that @J.Wolf had, and paired it with a GR Bass 208. It's a great match, as the 500w @ 4 Ohm cabinet takes all of the Puma's output.

This little rig is surprisingly loud, deep and clear. While I was - and still am - intrigued by the new Aerotech cabs that GR is debuting, I figured 23 lbs. for a cabinet would work just fine.
