Minnesota Bars Going Dry Soon?

Living within spitting distance of New Glarus has its perks.
And they are not the only great brewery in the area.
Yup. No beer in bars = no sales = no revenue = "I'm sorry but we're going to have to discontinue our live entertainment until the situation reverses."
If it comes down to paying bands, keeping staff employed or paying the electric bill you know which one of those three things is going to come up on the short end.
Nuttin like giving the power to decide what fun is to a bunch of folks who think fun of any kind is wrong.
Sounds like an end run to shut down or at least seriously hobble the legal drinking establishments in the state.
Doubtless it's a "We can't kill it outright, so let's just poke it's eyes out with a sharp stick" mentality in full effect.

Imagine a bar without Miller products. Oh, a little slice of heaven if you ask me. Take them out, gives more room for beer that actually has flavor.
Miller Lite, Coors Light, Bud, Bud Light.

It funny, I played an upscale party with a friend of mine last weekend. One would think with more money would come better taste in beer, but nope. Corona's & Coor Lite abound!
Same with my wedding, it was quite the nice venue, and an open bar was paid for (up to a certain point, I believe) the best beer they had was Shock Top. My wife's cousin requested they put some aside for the groom. It was the first time I met him, but he's now my favorite new relative!

I love New Belgium beers! I have the remainder of a Folly Pack in my fridge (the Spring pack, though, not the summer, I love me some 1554!)

Natty Greene's (Greensboro)
Foothills (Winston-Salem)
Red Oak (Whitsett)
Highlands (Asheville)
Duck-Rabbit (Farmville)
And a few dozen others...would love to join the Coloradans in assisting the downtrodden beer drinkers of Minnesota.
Time to hit the Steel Reserve and do some time traveling

I asked my brother (who lives in the Twin Cities) about it.
He said he's gonna buy up all the Miller Lite he can find, hold on to it for a couple weeks, then sell it on the black market for 3x normal market value and pay for his upcoming fishing trip to Florida.
He was joking of course, but you get the idea.

OK, as a proud beer snob I think I can still sympathize with the fellow Minnesota folks who are afraid of this impending tragedy. While I agree that Miller is less than a brewery, I also agree that 80% of the crowd at a gig has NO CLUE what beer is supposed to taste like. My prayer for you is this: let the government shutdown all it wants BUT.....let the local microbreweries takeover the whole Minneapolis market and freakin' PWN Minnesota's beer market, thus teaching the Minnesota populous what beer is supposed to taste like!
OK, I thought about this all day, and now I have a funny "ZING" for you guys who gig. I just can't formulate it into a one liner. I was going to say something about the people who like the quality of beer of Miller/Budweiser also like that quality of music. So if that crowd is at your gigs, that says something about how good your band is.

I shall think of my endangered brethren whilst I drive home past New Belgium - Odells - and the new Fort Collins Brewery - all of which are less than a mile from my home, and all of which have very nice tasting rooms.

I am considering a trip to the Natty Greene's brewery and restaurant tonight, it's 5 minutes from the shop. I'm going to Foothills over in W-S on Saturday morning for the limited release of this work of the brewer's art:
