900 bucks? Isn't that a bit high for a used P bass? Not to mention the finish problems, heh heh. "Mint".
Its part of the "Road Worn" (hence the cig burn on the headstock) series from fender. They go for $1,000 new at musiciansfriend so this isn't THAT crazy.
I have a question... How exactly do you determne that it's in 'mint' condition if it's purposely beat to hell and back from the factory? Just wonderin'...

I don't see the appeal of the "road worn" stuff. Makes my want to tear it down and paint it. That or shoot it.
What's the point of having a worn looking bass if you didn't actually put the miles on it?

forreal, i think its crazy when ppl buy actually messed up instruments for a lot more.

The point is that road worns let people get the look they want now, and it is no more a "fake" finish than a normal painted finish. Imagine how much it would suck if you wanted your bass to have a black paintjob, but you were only allowed to apply one or two flecks of paint to your bass per gig. Kinda seems silly to wait 10+ years to get the finish you want now.
This got me to thinkin'...when this recession is over I'm going to get into building houses, except I'll carve out my own little specialty niche, new "Lived In" homes.

Ah, but for a new one, you're paying a premium because it "looks used". So why not pay even more for one that has been used even more?

Not a bike guy, but have an old CHevelle. Man, we DRIVE that sucka 1100 miles to Nashville and home for the big show.
The road wear IS the fun man. You can't fake that.
BTW, the wear on the back of the bass on the edges looks fake as heck. Bad mojo there.
And how would you burn a cig there?
Ya mang, everybody knows what a Road Worn is. Mint and RW is ironic, no?
And yes $919 for a RW is ridiculous for a used Mexican bass. BTW, go to any independent Mom n Pop style guitar store and I bet you can get a "new" RW for $800.
